How can I get out a little bit of orange tint in my hair?

Uggh! My hair has been through hell. I was a dark brown a while back and gradually had my stylist get back to blonde, but I had wanted her to give me some beachy blonde color, and instead I got an ashy color that people thought washed me out. So, I highlighted it myself ( I know, dumb!) and didnt think it did too much, so I slathered on more, and FRIED my hair. When I did it, some of my ends came out kind of an apricot color, which isnt TOO bad, but the blonde everywhere else is really uneven. Platinum here, golden blonde there, a few random weird strands of leftover ashy old color, and while I'm not totally heartbroken, I dont want to go back to my hairdresser and be like, " Hey! I know you just did my hair 3 weeks ago, but I screwed it up on my own....Can you fix it again?" I know about the shimmer lights shampoo, but I'm not sure that will cut it since its only specific areas that the orangey bits are in. I dont wanna go dark either. HALP!
