What can i spray onto paper to stick to wood?

i used glue made for wood and paper to decorate my closet with decorative scrapbooking glue and it worked perfect until it started peeling at the corners.. is there some kind of adhesive that i can spray or brush ON TOP OF my home made decals to set it?
